Warsaw:
Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland. It is located on the Vistula River roughly 370 kilometers from both the Baltic Sea coast and the Carpathian Mountains. Warsaw is divided into 18 boroughs, each one known as a dzielnica. Each of the boroughs includes several neighbourhoods which have no legal or administrative status.
Warsaw has two historic districts, called Old Town (Stare Miasto) and New Town (Nowe Miasto). Warsaw's palaces, churches and mansions display a richness of color and architectural details. Buildings are representatives of nearly every European architectural style and historical period.
The city has wonderful examples of architecture from the gothic, renaissance, baroque and neoclassical periods, all of which are located within easy walking distance of the town center.
