General Requirements:
Since December 21st 2007, Poland has been a part of the Schengen area. US Citizens can travel to Poland for tourism and business for up to 90 days without visa. Visas for U.S. citizens are free of charge.
LONG-STAY VISAS valid only for the territory of Poland. This visa allows the holder to stay in Poland for a continuous stay or multiple periods of stay not exceeding jointly one year within the visa validity period. Polish national long-stay visas entitle their holders to one, a maximum 5 day visa free transit through the Schengen territory. Holders of Polish residence permits will be allowed to enter the Schengen territory and stay there for a period not exceeding 90 days.
FORMAL VISA REQUIREMENTS
- The original passport or equivalent travel document - it must be signed and valid for at least 3 months after the date of intended departure from Poland, with at least one blank visa page;
- One Visa Application Form;
- Evidence of immigration status in the United States, (e.g. green card);
- Bank statement covering last 3 months;
- Confirmation letter from a health insurance company stating coverage for a minimum of 30.000 EURO (equivalent in USD) for trips outside the US, including medical repatriation (copy of healthcare card is not sufficient);
- Proof of sufficient funds (at least 100 zlotys per day) to cover the costs of the stay in the Republic of Poland;
- Reference letter from employer;
- Two passport size photographs.
